Bidvest acquires the Printer Distribution Company
We are excited to announce that Bidvest has acquired the Printer Distribution Company (PDC), effective on 1 April 2023.
The JSE-listed Bidvest group is a leading international services, trading and distribution group which operates in areas of consumer, pharmaceutical and industrial products, financial services, freight management, office and print solutions, outsourced hard and soft services, travel services and automotive retailing.
The Bidvest Data, Print & Packaging division is a leading supplier of print, data, packaging and labelling solutions and the acquisition is in line with its drive to expand into being one of the leading South African specialist distributors of hardware and software solutions, barcode scanners, mobile computers, a range of printers, as well as consumables.
Bidvest recognises the importance of barcode and mobile computing solutions, as well as safety solutions in the future across the supply chain as a key driver to accelerate automation to drive down costs and increase efficiencies.
Colin Adendorff, CEO of the Bidvest Data, Print & Packaging division, said that the PDC presented an attractive investment option as it is a complementary fit to the services that the division offers.
He added that Bidvest was attracted by PDC’s excellent reputation of 20 years as a premier distributor of well-known Line and Dot-Matrix, Mobile Computing, RFID, Barcoding and POS hardware and software solutions, with a solid customer base and established relationships with global technology vendor partners.
